Avoid creating duplicate candidate profiles by defining how the system identifies duplicates.
Written by Jaykishan A.
In iSmartRecruit, candidate data may come from multiple sources — manual entry, resume parsing, job boards, and more. To help prevent duplicate profiles, a new feature has been added that lets Admin users choose how the system checks for duplicates.
Navigation Path: Go to Admin → Global Settings → Customise Duplicate Checks for Candidate
https://app.ismartrecruit.com/duplicateCandidateCheck
Once configured, the system will check for duplicate candidates using only the selected fields. This applies to all candidate entries, including:
Resume parsing
Job board imports
Manual candidate creation
API or bulk imports
The system allows you to choose which fields should be used to detect duplicate candidates:
Email: Always enabled and cannot be disabled. This is a mandatory check.
LinkedIn: Enable this if your candidate records include LinkedIn profile URLs.
Mobile Number: Useful if phone numbers are commonly collected and used for matching.
Xing: Enable this if your candidate records include Xing profile URLs.
1. Go to Admin → Global Settings → Customise Duplicate Checks for Candidate
2. Select or deselect the fields you want the system to use
3. Click Update— your settings will be applied system-wide
This setting impacts all ways candidates are added to your system. Be sure to review the fields you use most often for matching.
